Welcome to Erith Car Hire Services. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and vehicle rental offerings. By accessing our services, you agree to comply with these terms.
Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals in Erith are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Erith, you must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may vary based on the vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are also necessary. Please review the Rental Agreement for any further requirements.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made easily via our website, by phone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full rental fee and security deposit are generally required upon picking up your vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards through secure payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, please conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by you. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied as necessary. The vehicle should be returned with the same amount of fuel as when collected; if the fuel level is lower, refueling charges will be incurred. Late returns may attract additional fees, so please contact us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You are accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, in addition to an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to lower your financial responsibility. Note that you will be liable for damages or losses up to the insurance excess, unless further coverage is obtained. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse will remain your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional fees.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding the designated passenger or weight capacity, or leaving agreed geographical boundaries without authorization is also not permitted.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Erith will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental fees paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Erith
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
